How about install nvidia-418 driver. I (unofficially) heard new nvidia driver does not support certain old card. Maybe that’s what hit you.

When you got a system can’t boot because of GPU driver, you can add “nomodeset” in the kernel booting parameter temporary, you should be able to boot into the system. Remove the driver that causes the problem, you should be able to correctly boot into the system in next run.
